War Diary of the 3rd Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery, 12th Battery for Jun 16, 1916 states: "Battery fired heavily all day! S.O.S. from infantry. Lieut. A.R. Murray, Gnr. Wills and Heckbert killed by enemy shell." June 17th entry states: "Lieut. Murray's body was buried in RENINGHELST Military Cemetery, Row E, Lot 8. Capt. J.B. Grimshaw officiated."
