Uploader's Notes: Listed on the Nominal Roll of the 25th Battalion as a Private.
Uploader's Research notes: The year of birth on John Stewart's attestation paper (1875) is correct, however when Collections Canada transcribed this page they misread it and recorded it in the database as 1873. I have notified them of their error and asked them to correct it. I have a copy of John Stewart's original birth registration which shows the correct year (and if you look at the attestation paper carefully, it is clearly a 5, though easy to see how they mistook the stylized 5 as a 3) [Private Army Canadian Infantry 25th Battalion Lance Sergeant Army Canadian Infantry 25th Battalion ]
